Chapter 01 · Residential

Residential roofing

Architectural shingles, metal, tile, shake and wood shingles, on sloped and low slope roofs. Complete tear-off is the default, because ice guard only works when it is stuck to the wood deck and a nail that pops through a second layer finds the new roof.

They remove only what they can cover and clean in a day, so the house is not left open overnight. Installers are paid hourly with no piece rates, and shingles go down on 1 3/4 inch coil nails so each nail enters the wood straight.

Chapter 02 · Commercial

Commercial roofing

60 mil TPO on every gallery job, PVC when the building calls for it, built-up roof tear-offs, and standing seam metal on low slope. Their own named Yakima work: Decco USA, LabCorp, Syntec US and the Naches Fruit Stand.

If a built-up roof still has life in it, they say so and offer a maintenance program instead of a premature replacement. If it is buckling, they say that too: it is time for a new roof.

Chapter 03 · Below the roofline

We are not just roofers.

“The knowledge of a roofer stops at the roof and attic venting. Our knowledge goes all the way down to the foundations of your home.”

Their team is a mixture of framers, roofers and designers who can plan and assemble entire homes. That shows up on the jobs. On a manufactured home in Yakima the roof came off down to the trusses, and the cracked trusses were reinforced before anything went back on top.

The other five

  1. Wood, metal and composite siding, and vinyl panel repairs. On vinyl they say it plainly: they do not recommend it without knowing its problems first.

  2. Sticking, sagging and drafty doors, windows that will not lock or stay open. On the Gleed job the crew replaced every door and window and re-wrapped the window trim.

  3. Gutter installation, covers and repairs. A gutter that cannot clear snowmelt freezes into an ice dam, so this is roof work as much as it is trim work.

  4. Decks, porches, pergolas, pump houses, storage sheds, garden rooms, additions and fences, framed by the same people who frame houses.

  5. Tile, bathrooms and epoxy countertops from a crew that includes designers. Kitchens and bathrooms are planned with the same structural eye as a roof.

What you can ask for on the quote form

Residential roofing, commercial roofing, siding, gutters, hauling, doors and windows, or “other” if it does not fit a box. If you have a minor issue that can be fixed, they will not try to sell you a whole new roof or a new set of windows. If they find something serious, they document it and show you the pictures with their recommendation.
